OCEAN Textile Group A/S is an old Danish company founded in the Danish town of textile, Herning, in 1958. The first products were waterproofs for craftsmen and seamen - especially for the fishing industry, which at that time as well as now has very harsh working conditions at sea in all kinds of weather.

OCEAN quickly became known for quality and its well-thought-out products, and today the range has been expanded to include workwear and OCEAN rainwear for a growing number of people who also demand quality and functionality rainwear for sports and leisure.

OCEAN rainwear for work and leisure

Today, OCEAN rainwear includes a wide range of rainwear from the breathable lightweight waterproofs for leisure, PU rainwear in 170 – 250 g/m², to the powerful Heavy Duty fishing rainwear in 700 g/m² PVC as well as waders and sea boots. Most OCEAN rainwear is divided into series consisting of jackets, anoraks, trousers, overalls and full body overalls, and Heavy Duty qualities are available with and without welded cuffs, protective gloves and boots.

OCEAN uses only selected high quality materials. Advanced technology, many years of experience and professionally ambitious employees ensure that quality and functionality in workwear and rainwear from OCEAN are always in order. Today OCEAN Textile Group A/S produces more than DKK 1 million. pieces of clothing a year, employs 200 people and exports to 25 different countries.

ABEKO acquired by OCEAN

In 2014, OCEAN acquired the well-known Swedish company ABEKO, which in many areas had common characteristics and interests with OCEAN.

ABEKO also has a long history, was established in 1948 and started out by manufacturing durable and waterproof work clothes for the forest workers in Vester Varmland in Sweden. ABEKO quickly became known for uncompromising quality not only in Sweden and the other Nordic countries, but in much of the world.

ABEKO quickly expanded the range and was for many years especially known fortheir children's rainwear, which year after year was at the absolute best in design and high quality rainwear for kids.

Under the name OCEAN-ABEKO, OCEAN rainwear is now continuing its efforts to be among the best in workwear, rainwear for work and leisure, and protective gear.

Climate-friendly rainwear from OCEAN

In 2018, OCEAN Rainwear took the first step towards a more climate-friendly production with the development of their first sustainable collection. Pure Ocean the collection is called, the base is manufactured of recycled plastic, which is collected from eg. the sea and beaches. OCEAN wants to make a difference to the environment in close dialogue with their customers.
